Can't Bring Me Down
I found my wings,
collecting dust beneath my bed.
Dirty yet flawless,
I know they'll take me to the dreams in my head.
I won't let you stop me,
no closed door will hold me down,
barred windows and forbidden grounds,
can't keep me from flying,
and you can't bring me back down.
I found my wings,
hanging at the back of my closet.
Never worn and perfect,
I know they'll take me far, I just know it.
I won't let you stop me,
no closed door will hold me down,
barred windows and forbidden grounds,
can't keep me from climbing,
and you can't bring me back down.
I found my wings,
hiding under my silent fears,
crumpled and needing to be stretched,
someday I'll give them the use they've needed through the years.
I won't let you stop me,
no closed door will hold me down,
barred windows and forbidden grounds,
can't keep me from dreaming,
and you can't bring me back down.
I wrote this song and composed it based upon a poem I had found on the interwebs I included the poem in the description.
