I'm a total newbie to the music box world and i have a question i need the answer to before buying my first music box.
does every programmable 15 note music box come in the same key? i can only buy from amazon (worldwide shipping and i'm in argentina), and i've found that there are 3 brands that have what i'm looking for in my price range: Wingostore, YouTang and Kikkerland, but i have no idea if all the music boxes come in the same key and if they are all compatible with the creation tool in this site.
Thanks to everyone in advance, i'm truly excited to join this community!
I think they are the same. If you look at the pictures the playing part and the paper strips look very similar. It should be the C major scale with two octaves with three C's
So let's say, worst case scenario, the Music box mechanism i buy comes in a different key/scale from the one used in the creation tool this site offers. if i punch out my paper and try to play it, what's the worst that could happen? would if just be the same but in a different key? or would it sound completely wrong?
I don´t know about the 15 note boxes, but the 30 note boxes are coming in F although most of them are described as C. I think the worst case scenario is that it comes in another major scale. In this case you can use the creation tool for your songs or pieces and everything sounds higher or lower on the actual box. If you don´t play with other instruments this should not matter! If you want it exactly you can use the 60 note tamplate on this site and just use the 15 notes you got on your box. But hey, 2020 is over, no more worst case scenarios expectet ;-)
