This Python program automates the whole process of converting a 30-note DXF file exported from musicmanics.com to an SVG file that can be directly uploaded to and cut by Cricut Design Space. Demo is here: https://youtu.be/y3J86qpPQiQ

Other methods of doing this worked, but without Illustrator, I needed an alternative. My husband wrote this program to help me out. Hopefully his sharing it will be fun for others as well.
Nice, I love the idea of automating the cutting but don't have Illustrator either. Will give this a look soon - I know Silhouette Design Studio (similar to Cricut Design Space but for a different machine) can use SVGs and I'd love to try this with that.
You should try emailing the people from this website, and check if they could put a link to the program somewhere on this site. This is useful stuff to keep around,
Also, I was like 'Oh such a device sounds useful to make my strips!
Then I checked the price. Well, it was to be expected, of course.
Hi, I know this post is old, but this code really helped make music boxes accessible to me! I want other people to learn how to use your husband’s code too. I made a tutorial video on it in case anyone else wants a visual guide on the process of using it. Hope it helps. Thanks again for the code!

I would be interested to hear if that works for you.
I gave this a go, and it worked like a charm. Thanks so much for the work shoshanaz! You have made this hobby a whole lot easier.
