I am new here and was looking for any help if possible! I want to create Gabe Bondoc's Gentlemen Don't as a midi file but I have no idea where to start! Any advice or guidance would be much appreciated! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2CU7q8wVoA
Hi and welcome. May I ask what exactly are you trying to achieve? I mean do you want just a MIDI file or a melody for a DIY music box? In any case, you can start by searching this MIDI file online, importing it into the online editor and fixing the tempo if needed.
Hi! Thanks for the reply. I would like to put it into a MIDI file to hopefully create the melody in a DIY music box. I haven't been able to find any existing MIDI files of this specific song. I have seen on youtube that we should first put our songs into a MIDI file so that it would be easier to translate it onto a DIY music box sheet? Am I on the right track?
I've found a pretty good MIDI file here http://tabnabber.com/view_Tab.asp?tabID=8809&sArtist=Gabe+Bondoc&sName=Gentlemen+Don%27t (there is a small link, pretty hard to find) but after I imported it into the editor, it appeared to be that it doesn't fit into any of the DIY music box scales because the melody range is pretty wide. Also, there is a small problem with floating tempo. You can try to do the same and manually change the melody to fit into your music box scale, but I think it's gonna take a while. I'd consider submitting a melody request through FIverr, you will most likely get the melody for your music box done for $5-10.
