Hi, yes... i wrote a software for it. Now i'm trying to build a mini cnc with laser. In next version i will produce a machine that plays musicbox without card (paper). It will play midi files on sd card. Because paper is hard to implement and hard to store. What do you think?
it would be neat if that cnc could be fed with rolls for 15 20 and 30! I understand your opinion on the paper, it will deteriorate overtime and it's not in tune with a more minimalistic lifestyle. Still, I believe it's for the mechanics, the simplicity(not) of it. I love having strips of paper with music, and all the machines! So you're working the machine they're announcing?
Are you doing it all by yourself, or did you gather some people to help? I wish I could help, but I am no good with coding..
Hi again, at first, i must complete the cnc mechanic of laser melody paper engraver. Software is almost ready... I have some problems with small motors (heat and position lost issues)... I think i can complete all works in 2 weeks... I'm alone because i do not need somebody to work with... This is my hobby :) I'm mechanical engineer and i have some knowledge on programming, 3D modelling, prototyping, electric and electronic... This is why i'm alone on this work :D ... So what is your profession and experience? Where do you live? Regards
Mark_42 Steam-driven music boxes would be lovely, that way I could have tea and music ahah actually having some kind of motor to crank it at different bpms would be awesome, that piece to crank it is too small.
KenanSATIR Then that's good! I have no experience apart from the little projects I do at home, following tutorials from the web. Trying to work around arduinos and thermoprinters. Actually, these are small enough to print these strips, so it could be a neat tool to print the dots to use as templates! My area is more towards design, architecture, product design. I'm an interior designer and currently working as a 3d artist for other architects, so 3d modeling and rendering.
So I guess my only help would be in the end to make it look good and marketable ahahah

I will make it compact and portable...
Hey, are you still working on this project? I am interested. What are your ideas for the future of this machine?

I like the mechanisms in music boxes. I plan to drive one with a steam engine eventually.
