Hello there, I would like to share a little project I am working on. It's a digital paper music box that plays 15-note paper strips using an internal synth and can also send MIDI to play external instruments.
Search Wee noise makers Punch, Feed, Play on Youtube for a quick demo :)
Really cool idea — I like that it keeps the paper-strip music box workflow, but also lets it drive MIDI. That feels like the missing bridge between the physical strip and experimenting with different sounds before committing to a punch.
I’ve been playing with audio-to-MIDI workflows lately, mostly for turning short melody ideas into editable MIDI, and this made me think it could be a useful companion for people who start from a recording rather than notation. I built a small page for that here: [suspicious link]
Would be interesting to see how your 15-note mapping handles longer melodies or notes outside the usual music box range.
