I bought an Aunmas 30-Note Hand Crank Tape 30 note Music Box and am trying to compose for it.
I've already had to re-draft because the scale is completely different from the tape, but my main problem is that It won't play repeated notes at the same pitch. I thought this might be because I was putting them too close together, but even at a safe distance they don't play the second note.
Is this something I have to live with? Or is there a solution?
Unfortunately, there is no way to punch two notes at the same pitch next to each other unless there is a line in between the holes. This is why repeated notes are colored in the MBM editor.
The easiest solution is to alter the arrangement so it doesn't have those notes by altering the pitch or rhythm of the melody in those places. It's not a great fix, but can make otherwise unplayable songs work on a DIY music box.

Thanks Erin, that's good to know - didn't want to re-structure things until I was sure there wasn't a way to sort it out! Cheers for that
