What method do you guys use to get the printer paper exports onto card stock? I've tried laminating the printer paper with packing tape, taping 3 sheets of printer paper together, etc, without much success. I was wondering if I could use a glue stick and just glue the sheets to card stock but thought that might be too thick and am hoping that asking here will save much time experimenting.
You could do it on paper & use the punched paper ss a template to mark the card stock. You can buy rolls of the card stock with gridlines on Amazon or eBay.
I print it on cheap paper, cut out the strips, tape them over cardstock and start punching. If you place the tape strategically, you can just cut it off when you're done with no leftover tape.
Some printers will print on card stock. Check your printer manual to see if that is an option. I would not just stuff a sheet of card stock in the printer without going into the printer settings to select the appropriate paper type.
So far, I found that if I print the .PDF of the music on ordinary paper, then punch out the printed .PDF, then use it as a template on the cardstock with a red pen, (you can even put the dots on the blank side of tha card stock) it is the fastest way. It sounds like more steps, but it goes fast once you have the paper template punched out & cut into strips.
Our local printer has 100-wt. paper which works better than card stock, will not jam. Comes in long pieces. I'm really looking forward to trying this app. I can create MIDI files very easily but making hundreds of dots on paper is not how I'd like to spend my time.
