Undocumented Features

Under the "Features" heading on the main page is something called "Shift, expand and narrow notes options". I can find nothing that describes these or how to use them, including in this forum. I am working on a large-scale project where I plan to cut tune sheets using a laser cutter which will allow me to create non-circular (oval or even rectangular) holes. The tune has several repeated eighth notes which may be problematic for proper repetition. Could a "narrow" note option (oval vs. round) be the solution for this? Where can I find the documentation of this feature?
