The Bear Necessities from The Jungle Book - Simple, and my first composition
Words and Music by J Fred Coots and Haven Gillespie Comedian Eddie Cantor introduced this song on his radio show in 1934, and it became an instant hit. Interestingly, the composers couldn't find a publisher when they wrote it two years earlier, because everyone thought it was just a "kiddie" song. All children know that they have to be good especially at Christmastime, if they expect Santa to pay them a visit.
