Hey MusicBoxManiacs, first , sorry for my bad English. writing target note scale in melody descriptions. I usually write in range of 60 notes, but in the description, specify which fits DIY Music Box. For example, Adele's songs only managed a good effect on the 30 notes diy music box 30 notes. You can try , open a song (Coldplay - The Scientist for example) and click on "clone" and set the notes to 30, 20 and 15. You will hear how the song sounds in different musical boxes. Have a great day.
Hello, thanks for the compliment! I'm glad you like the songs, and thank you for all the updates and stuff, it's been getting really nice to use the site.
Hey I did not find another place so I decided to contact an old user. I'd love if you could show me a way to copy a part and paste it. There are repetitive or similar passages and I have to rewrite them Thanks !!
Hey musicboxtbatb. Unfortunately, there is no way to achieve that in the online editor. However, you may consider using a desktop MIDI editor for that purpose and import a MIDI file into the online editor afterwards. Hope it helps :)
Hi, I have another last question. On what kind of page do you print the melodies you make? I've tried on several types of pages and it's probably not thick enough. I'd love if you will describe it accurately. Thanks!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vb0jdFzAlQs in this video tutorial the author recommends to use paper with at least 180 GSM. But you can also glue two sheets of standard office paper with a glue stick, it should work just fine :)
Hi. Another question. Does you know where i can order spare parts for the music box? Such as: plastic gears. Sorry for bothering. I'm new to the field and I have no one to turn to. I could not find anywhere like aliexpress or ebay..
No worries! Unfortunately, I haven't seen any spare parts being sold separately. Most of the music boxes have similar mechanisms, so if you can find a cheap music box with the same note scale as yours, you should be able to disassemble it and take the parts you need.
I do not know why. But in each round there is a part that runs on "empty" .. that is, it does not pull the page properly :( .I thought it was related to the thickness of the page but apparently not.
It's hard to suggest anything without looking at your music box. I would contact the seller and return the item if it's not too late and try your luck with a different model. Also, the seller may have some recommendations for you, but I'm not sure about it.
It's been a very long time since I ordered my last music box. It was a 30 note motorized version from aliexpress. It works great, but its claimed note scale is shifted by several semitones.

Really sad to hear that. Does it work with the paper strips, that were provided with the music box? I don't think I've ever heard of such issue.
Yes!That's why it's so weird. But I think the problem is either the gears or the wheel is not round enough. what you recommend to do?

OK. Thanks for all the help!! I'll probably buy a new one .. and this time with electric motor :)
Any time. Sorry for not being that helpful. Hope you'll get a proper music box next time :)
