Similar melodies algorithm

I posted a 15-note melody yesterday, and has been detected that it had a similar melody (but not actually the 'same')...

This was what I've submitted:

Just noticed that they have similar sequences on a few bars, hence the "similar melody" detected by the algorithm. Anyone also encountered this?

more note on the same column go out the tone

Hello everyone. I recently bought a 30 note music box and I'm trying to create some melody. I noticed when there are more notes on the same column they go out of tune from the music box, while on the site they are fine. can anyone help me?

First post - what a great website. I saw Martha Wainwright using a punch card music box and was fascinated by them.

Metal or nylon gears?

Sharps in Kikkerland

This is my first time ever composing and immediately running into a problem. How do I make sharps using a 15 note. Is it a combination of other notes? I really have no background in music theory and just a point in a direction would be amazing. Thanks

Possible to make DIY musicbox for a stuffed animal?

Hi, I am new here! :)

My wife wants to sew a custom stuffed animal we want to give to a child as a gift. We want to put a music box inside that plays a very specific melody we cannot buy anywhere on the web.

Because of the use case, a default music box with punchcards is not usable for us. Is there a way to obtain a "raw" music box for stuffed animals and bring our own melody to it?

Anyone know where to buy the paper punch by itself?

I would like to get a second paper punch to keep at work for when I want to punch a song at lunchtime.
When I make one as a Valentine's day card for my wife, I like to do it at work.
Anyone know where to buy the paper punch by itself?
I want to keep one here at work so I don't have to transport it around.
